Hello,
I'm moving to Brisbane and have my visa sorted but as it's just me, I'm not going to need anything like a whole container. Is container sharing a good idea and can anyone recommend a good company?

I would recommend that you get lots of quotes – I think everyone is keen for business these days but my experience is that once they have given you a price then that is that and they will not negotiate further on it. There can be a big variation in the prices charged so it is worth the hassle of shopping around.

Hello,
I'm currently in the process of trying to work out the best way to get my partners' goods to Australia from the UK later this year to Melbourne.
I looked on google and wrote down all the shipping companies, looked on their websites to make sure the ones I contacted were accredited. I then contacted them all and got quotes.
The prices vary considerably. We think we probably would need 1/2 a 20ft container, and it is cheaper to share a container. To do this was generally £3000 to £4000.
1/4 container cost about £1500 to £2000.
I guess you need to work out what you really want to bring over, and if there are things which you may be able to purchase over here then that could save some room.
