Hi,
If you are looking for details of what Australian suburbs are like then you can get a very detailed view from Google street view, Bing maps and I've also found a new one http://www.nearmap.com/ (http://www.nearmap.com//). I've just had a look at nearmap and they have very high-resolution pictures of Australian cities taken recently (Nov 09). An easy way to help check if a suburb is right for you.:)

Thanks for showing that link. :) The detail is amazing but I can't get the directions to work. All I can see is the same spot, which is good quality, but it's nice to move around as well. I like the way the site gives the date the photos were taken and gives you an option to look at back at previous photos.

It's the most detailed map that I've seen but I agree that the controls are difficult to work out. The pages take longer to load than google - but as there is more detail maybe that is to be expected. I used the 'hand' and was able to move around that way. It also looks like only the cities are in detail - towns are blurred and use some have pictures from 2004.

Yes, it's a good view, though the image is a bit grainy as you zoom in really close. Brisbane has pictures from Nov 09. I had a look at Perth and it was photographed on 31 Dec 09.
