Hi,
Thanks for your replies on my previous questions - please keep the replies coming as I am trying to get as much information as possible. Can anyone advise on the toll roads in Sydney? How many are there and how much do the road tolls cost?
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate any advice / info you all have,

Hi,
There are 10 toll roads in NSW. They are the M2, M4, M5, and M7, the Eastern Distributor, the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and Bridge, the Cross City Tunnel, the Lane Cove Tunnel and the Falcon St Gateway.
http://sydneymotorways.com/ is a good place to find out about the tags and prices.
Tag
Electronic tags are the easiest way to pay motorway tolls. All tags offered in Australia work on all motorways around the country. If you have a tag, look for the lanes marked with the red and yellow 'E' symbol. Tags are read by sensors at plazas and toll collection points and your toll account is automatically debited. Most tag products generally require you to pay a security deposit and a pre-paid toll balance. When your pre-paid toll balance drops to a certain amount, your toll account is topped up by the tag provider using your credit card or bank account.
Passes
pass is an arrangement where your number plate is temporarily recorded in the tolling system. If you are visiting Sydney or are an infrequent user of toll roads, this may be your best payment option for the fully electronic motorways. You can use a pass on the roads marked with the red and white 'e' symbol. With pass products you'll pay an additional administration fee for each trip you make on a motorway. You can use a pass on any toll road in Sydney.
There are several companies that you can use to fet a tag or pass. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/myrta/myetoll/index.html for example.

What happens if you don't pay the toll?

What happens if you don't pay the toll?
If you don’t organise to pay the toll up to 48 hours after a journey on a toll road you'll get a toll notice. This is the toll plus a $10 administration fee. If you don’t pay the first toll notice you’ll get a second one and the administration fee will increase to $20 – and from there a fine.

You can use this link http://sydneymotorways.com/rta_map.html to calculate the cost of your trip. There is also a 'common trips' tab which gives the prices for well used routes such as from the North Shore to the airport - $4.00 toll.
