Hi everyone,
I've just found this forum and it's great. Lots of useful info. I am an experienced wall and floor tiler in England. What kind of qualifications / experience do you need to get a permanent visa to work in Aus? In particular I like the idea of Perth. Is there still plenty of work about?
Cheers Ian.

From the DIAC website:

You will need to pass a skills assessment
https://www.australianskillassessments.com/occupations/wall-and-floor-tiler.php
Are you a wall and floor tiler interested in moving to Australia? Unless you have completed a formal qualification or apprenticeship, you may find it difficult to apply for an Australian visa without an Australian qualification.
Even if you do manage to obtain a visa, you may find it difficult to find work in Australia without an Australian qualification.
This is where we can help. We have signed an exclusive agreement with the Master Builders – the most recognised federation in Australia’s construction industry, to provide skill assessments to wall and floor tilers world wide.
Interested? Register here to start the process.
If you are deemed competent as per Australian standards you will be awarded an Australian Qualification (known as an AQF III), which will aide you any future visa application that you may make. It will also enhance your job prospects in Australia.
