Hi I’m thinking moving to Australia (in 2 years) I live in Mexico City. My only brother already lives in Australia.
I want that my parents go with me, my Mom is 58 and my Dad is 63. I read in a previous post about the Contributory Aged Parent (Resident) Visa subclass 864, and I think that under this type of visa I will take them to Australia, they have good health, they will be able to pay the cost of this type of visa but they won’t be able to work in Australia.
My question is: Are they will received an Aged Pension in the Future, even if they never work in Australia?
Thank you very much in advanced for your answer.

The age pension is means and assets tested and there is also a residency requirement:
Residence requirements for Age Pension
To lodge an Age Pension claim you must be an Australian resident and in Australia on the day that you lodge your claim.
To qualify as an Australian resident you must be living in Australia as:
* an Australian citizen, or
* the holder of a permanent resident visa, or
* a New Zealand citizen who was in Australia on 26 February 2001, or for 12 months in the 2 years immediately before that date, or was assessed as "protected" before 26 February 2004.
To be paid Age Pension, you also need to meet the 10 year qualifying Australian residence requirements, unless:
* you are claiming under an International Social Security Agreement, or
* you are a refugee or former refugee, or
* you were getting PA, WA or Widow B Pension immediately before turning Age Pension age, or
* you are a woman whose partner died while you were both Australian residents and you had 2 years residency immediately before claiming Age Pension.
Note: The 10 year Australian resident requirement means you have been an Australian resident for a continuous period of at least 10 years, or for a number of periods which total more than 10 years, with one of the periods being at least 5 years.

After 10 years of living in Australia as permenent residents your parents will be eligible to apply - but remember that the age pension is means and asset tested as well.

Thank You SO MUCH! for your promto response.
Do You know how this age pension is tested or assigned? More specific how much is for example the minimum pension? or a pension equivalent that the one that might recived my parents?
I'm asking all this so we can do the respective calculations and see if it is possible to do it?
