i've got a lot of stuff i'd like to take to australia. i'm thinking i'm goiong to have to hire a container to do it. we have a 3 bedroom house but i've so much stuff it probably more like a 4 bedroom house. would it all fit in a 20 foot container do you think or would i need a bigger one?

Yes, it can be difficult to work out what size container you need. My advice would be to gat several quotes from removal companies and see what they say. They are experts in working out what size of container you need.

For most people a 20' container will do - so unless you have heaps of stuff that is what you will need. As Cliff said, removal firms will advise you better on this as they can actually see the amount and are usually good judges.

Definitely get several quotes and the removal assessors will advise on the correct size. You'll find that if you can manage with a 20' it will be a lot cheaper.

For a 40'' container you will be looking at £5000 - £7000. make sure you get several quotes from the likes of John Masons, Anglo Pacific, Crown, Allied Pickfords etc. It is worth the hassle.
