Cheapest Petrol

..... is in Adelaide at 113 cents a litre.

Good news is that petrol is expected to fall further in the next 2 weeks:

"ADELAIDE petrol prices are the cheapest in the country and analysts predict more falls of up to 4c a litre in the next fortnight.

Adelaide's average unleaded petrol price of $1.13 a litre yesterday was the cheapest of any capital city, less than two weeks after record retail margins. Sydney was next cheapest, with an average price of about $1.18 a litre. The discounts followed a second consecutive week of falling prices. The average price of 119.3c a litre last week made South Australia the only state with an average less than $1.20 a litre, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum."

Glad to hear that petrol is going down in Aus - in the UK it's going up - thanks to extra duty.

According to the media, petrol is set to fall below $1 a litre by the end of the year, thanks to the rising Aus dollar. :)

The strength of the Australian dollar against the greenback and oil companies' cutting of their margins in recent weeks mean the good news for motorists will continue.

"CommSec expects petrol prices to fall by two to three cents a litre over the next fortnight," Mr Sebastian said.

"In fact, motorists in some capital cities could be paying close to $1 a litre at the low point in the discounting cycle with the assistance of shopper dockets."

The best thing I ever did to save money on petrol was to learn to drive more steadily, accelerate slowly, anticipate what's coming and take my foot off the accelerator early instead of braking late. Saves more than 10% on bills with very little effort.

Prices in my part of the world are supposedly going to rise quite steeply this year.

By the end of the year Britain's 33 million hard-pressed motorists can expect to be paying 123p for a litre of unleaded, up from the current price of 108p.

What's happening in Australia?

...Rising again. I'm now paying 125 cents a litre.

Forgot to say that http://motormouth.com.au/pricesearch.aspx?Region=Brisbane is good at finding the cheapest price around.
