Hi,

We're currently in the planning stage of our move and would like to have a rough idea of how much the cost of living is in the Gold Coast.

Ideally if we could have an idea of the cost of renting for a family of three in a good area and how much the utility bills are. I'm checking that we would be able to survive on a single wage for a while.

Thanks for any help and advice.

Rent in a good area ( Pacific Pines for example) for a house will be between $400 and $500 per week.

http://www.realestate.com.au will give you an idea of the rents and house prices you will have to pay in each area.

The average yearly electricity bill in Queensland is $1900 (I read it somewhere recently) and if you rent you will not have any rates to pay, as they are paid by the owner/landlord.
