Hi,

My 13 year old son is quite keen on joining the police. I have a rough idea of the salary in the UK, £35,000 and I would like to know what the salary in Australia. Also, do you have to be an Australian citizen to join the Aus police?

There will be slightly different recruitment policies and pay scales accross the states but for all of them you have to have PR or be a citizen to join the police.

For Western Australia Police (WAPOL), the starting salary is $56,556. There is a recruitment website
