hope somebody can help with this one. sorry to mention the c word in august but i've a couple of nephews in australia 9 and 10 and i'm wondering what to get them for christmas. is there a decent site like amazon for dvds and computer games in australia? also if anyone wants to make any suggestions about good presents that arent dvd or video games i'm all ears.

I'm not one for choosing presents, so I'll pass on that one.
If you're an Amazon customer, add your nephew's address to your account and Amazon will deliver to the address in Australia. We've bought DVDs from Amazon UK without a problem.
Assuming you're in the UK, I've found on several orders that the postage costs to Australia are more than offset by the fact that Amazon doesn't charge you any VAT if the goods are being sent to Australia. With the recent temporary VAT rate of 15% it means an effective 13% discount for buyers in Australia. When Vat goes back up to 17%, the discount is more like 15%.
You can send up to $1,000 of stuff without it incurring any import duty in Australia. So sending christmas presents from Amazon UK to Australia could work out than sending them to the UK.

You could always send an Amazon email gift certificate and the boys can choose the games thenselves. That way you don't have to worry about buying a game/DVD they already have.

If they like reading, consider the Bookdepository, as they sell books at very low prices and give free delivery to Australia.
Many people in Australia are now buying books from them, and with a delivery time of between 5 and 14 days in my experience.
