Hi,

Can someone please tell me the cost of getting around Melbourne using public transport? I am trying to work out a budget and it would be great if I could have a cost of the buses/trains in and out of the city.

Ideally, I would like to know how much it is to commute from the middle suburbs to the city centre.

If you are commuting, then a weekly or monthly metcard will be the best option for you. These can be used all over Melbourne on trains, trams or buses. A weekly metrocard pass is $49.60 a week and a monthly one is $169. It's good value. Daily tickets are $10.60 return. You can get unlimited Sunday travel for $3.10
