Hi
I'm new and will be heading out to Perth in 3 months for a holiday/look see with the family. I'm planning on staying in Rockingham Perth and travelling about from there. Do you know if there are many furnished rentals in that area? Looking to stay for one month or so in preferably a three-bedroom house but a two-bedroom will do.
Any advice/suggestions gratefully received.

Have a look at Realholidays.com.au (http://www.realholidays.com.au/cgi-bin/rsearch?snf=rbs&searchFormSource=advanced+search&a=s&chk=0&pme=any&is=1&tb=ROCKINGHAM&u=ROCKINGHAM&cu=fn-rhau&pxe=any&t=hol&s=wa&p=10&o=p). They have fully furnished rentals in Rockingham and the surrounding areas. From having a quick look, rentals start at $350 a week.
If you are coming over in the summer, then a place near the beach/coast will be cooler as it will get the sea breeze.

I've never been to Rockinham Max, so I'm not speaking from experience. From what I've read, though, it seems to have a bit of a "reputation".
Rockingham makes The Punch 'Bogan Top 10'
ROCKINGHAM, one of WA's most maligned locations, has cracked a mention on a list of Australia's Top 10 Bogan suburbs.
The sleepy coastal suburb, which has grown into a city, is loved by locals, but is constantly the butt of jokes which denigrate its reputation as one of the "bogan capitals'' of WA.
Detractors cite the city's unemployment rate, driving habits and lifestyle, including a perception that it has a higher percentage of young single parents than other nearby urban areas.
For example, John of Perth, had this to say: "I dont understand why some of the people who have commented here think that being a Rockingham bogan is cool. Its simply not. Bogans represent the worst of Australia - loud mouthed, tacky, ignorant and generally white trash, whose sole focus in life is getting a big plasma tv and a large sound system.''
But Jim, of Warnbro, had this to say: "I live 200metres from the best beach in WA in a quiet leafy street. All for less than the price of a crappy little unit in Subi. I can wear shorts and thongs in the pub and eat a decent meal for less than $20 surrounded by normal people with not a preening snob in sight. Long live Rocko.''
